Private Repositories: create your own image database
Published on February 7, 2025

Have you ever wanted to create your own private image database to check papers against? With our newest feature, Private Repositories, you can do precisely that. We’ve just launched this feature in beta, and it’s now available to all Imagetwin users free of charge during this time-limited testing phase. Upload images and documents to build your own publication database, and when you run a scan, the system will automatically compare images in the scanned paper to those in your repository. If duplicates are detected, they’ll appear highlighted on the results page. For more details—including step-by-step illustrations—check out our user manual.
All content in the private repository is bound to your account and cannot be seen or used by any other user.
We store your data securely using industry standards. Learn more in our data privacy policy.
Experience private repositories for free in the beta phase
- One private repository will be accessible to all users during the testing phase.
- You can store up to 500 sub-images and figures in the repository.
- Access the private repository feature for free over the next 30 days.
Get hands-on with the new feature during the beta testing phase. You can upload files and documents during this time until you reach the image limitation. This limitation is based on the number of sub-images and figures automatically extracted from the files you upload to the repository. If you need to free up space for new data, you can delete files from the repository anytime.
Keep up-to-date with our progress
We plan to fully roll out this feature over the next month. The full version will also include options for sharing repositories within an organization, allowing groups or departments to collaborate on building a shared private repository for duplicate checks. This functionality can be especially useful for compiling datasets of student papers, journals, or publications that are not yet in our current database.
